Exploration of Southern Tunisia: Ksar Ghailane-Tozeur 4 Days /3 Nights

EXCURSION PROGRAM

Day 1: Discovering the Ksours

Departure from the hotel via the Roman road towards Tataouine.

Arrival at Chahbania and a photo stop at the famous salt lake.

Arrival in Tataouine, visit to the market and the city center.

Continuation to Chenini, a small village nestled in the mountains, renowned for its ksours and houses carved into the mountain walls.

Lunch.

Passage through Ksar Haddada, a filming location for the movie "Star Wars".

Arrival at Ksar Ghilane, a small exotic oasis in the heart of the Sahara, settling into the camp.

Option for a camel or quad excursion to witness the sunset with a visit to the old fort in the desert (optional).

Dinner. Accommodation in tents.

Accommodation: Overnight at Camp Zmela or similar (Ksar Ghilane)

Day 2: Discovering the Djerid

Breakfast, departure for Tozeur via Douz; the gateway to the desert.

Lunch.

Crossing the Chott El Djérid, a salt flat located in southern Tunisia, on the edge between the mountains and the Sahara.

Visit to the old town of Tozeur.

Option for a horse-drawn carriage ride in the palm grove (optional).

Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.

Accommodation: Overnight at Ras El Ain Hotel 4* or similar

Day 3: Excursion to the Mountain Oases

Breakfast, departure to visit the stunning mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Midès.

Lunch.

Free afternoon or option to venture into the dunes of Ong Djmel to discover the Star Wars sets (optional).

Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Accommodation: Overnight at Ras El Ain Hotel 4* or similar in Djerid (Jérid)

Day 4: Underground House...

Breakfast, departure to Matmata via the Chott Djerid salt lake.

Visit to the Berber village of Tamezret.

Continuation to the troglodyte village of Matmata and visit to the typical underground dwelling where we will enjoy a midday meal, including rosemary tea, freshly baked bread, and olive oil.

Departure to the village of Toujane and return to Djerba.
